TechSim Engineering – Solution Partner of SIEMENS would like to invite you to the 5th annual professional conference ELMAG Forum 2024 – this year with the theme “We will teach you how to design a battery storage for mobility or industry”. This year’s conference is unconventionally conceived as a story of the dimensioning, construction, production and safe operation of a battery storage, step by step. What is hidden behind each step and what is important to pay attention to in order to create a reliable storage with the required performance and guaranteed service life. The entire procedure is divided into several parts – sections of the conference. Within these sections, renowned experts from practice and academia will comment on individual topics

Energy management. Design and dimensioning of a battery storage

Industrial storage. Required functions and expected properties. Do we need a battery storage, and if so, how big to return the investment. Introduction to the program for calculating the energy system of municipal or corporate energy (photovoltaics, cogeneration, batteries x consumption diagrams) the result is the storage requirement - capacity, discharge/charge rate, number of cycles. Traction batteries. Sizing, properties and service life requirements.

Battery cells

Division of cells according to chemical composition and design and selection of the most suitable type from which to assemble the storage to meet the requirements we want to meet - purchase price, power, speed, number of cycles or service life and more.

Storage design and its production - BMS, cooling

Conceptual and structural design of the storage and its connection to the grid. BMS - principles, functions. Battery cooling and why it is so important to simulate it - initial 1D cooling system design and its detailed model using 3D CFD. Testing the cells that I want to use and why it is not good to rely only on manufacturers' datasheets.

Operation and safety of battery systems

Monitoring of necessary quantities and data needed for lifetime prediction - digital twin of storage. What are the valid safety regulations and conditions for their compliance. Prediction of fire and how it occurs.

Registration
The registration fee is 5,400 CZK including VAT and includes entrance fees and refreshments during the conference. For students and academic staff, the registration fee is reduced to 4,400 CZK.
